Clay County’s Auditor, Heather Boucher, approached members of the Board of County Commissioners individually and outside of formal process to lobby for a salary increase from roughly $114,000 to $165,000 — a raise of more than 44 percent — before the issue was finally aired publicly at a board meeting Monday night.
Before giving her a raise put feelers out for auditors , we may find better candidates and save money or at least have a bullpen of candidates that her threats will be idle and we have choices
There's something way off balance when those in government receive better pay, benefits and retirement support than those who pay the taxes that fund our government. And then consider what would happen if you confronted your employer and threatened to walk for any reason.

There’s a right way to advocate for higher pay and many wrong ways. Not sure this lady understands how to do it properly.
