Last week, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sting operation to combat child exploitation, aka people looking to commit sex crimes with minors. Five men from Clay County were caught in the sting and have been accused of various crimes.
The men from Clay arrested in the sting are:
Carl Eubanks, 49
Christian Tillmon, 24
Randal Warn, 44
Willie Wright Jr, 40
Harrison Clark, 30
While most of the men are not people you’ve ever heard of, Harrison Clark, whose middle name is Theodore and goes by the name “Ted,” is a member of Clay County Soil and Water Conservation District . Clark is also the son of Clay County School Board member Beth Clark.
All of the accused men drove the distance between their homes and various locations in Nassau County to meet who they thought were minors willing to engage in sex acts.
But in reality, the only people waiting to greet the men were the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office members. Using various phone apps designed for “hooking up.” NCSO posed as minors and engaged in conversations to draw out potential offenders.
According to police, all of the men were aware the person they were hoping to meet was underage. Several of the accused even asked if the person they were talking to was a member of law enforcement. None of the men were smart enough to figure out they were the targets of a law enforcement sting.
Upon their arrest, the men were booked into the Nassau County Jail and charged with felonies that included:
Traveling to Meet a Minor.
Using a Computer to Seduce, Solicit, or Lure a Child and Misrepresent Age.
Using a Two-Way Communication Device in the Commission of a Felony.
The arrest reports contained disturbing details from the messages written by the accused to the sting operators, outlining the extent of the acts they intended to commit. They are publicly available on the Nassau County Clerk of the Court website.
