G's BBQ Asks For Community Help After Devastating Fire
Donated funds will be used to pay employees while rebuilding
Good barbecue is hard to find. Clay County is blessed to have several excellent locally owned barbecue joints. One of those is G’s Slow Smoked BBQ, owned and operated by Gary Park since 2012. Gary is an award winning cook whose restaurant is widely regarded as one of the best in the county.
On January 9th, tragedy struck G’s as a fire engulfed most of the building. The fire took nearly two dozen Fire and Rescue units and almost four hours to extinguish. The fire left the building unusable, and G’s has closed its doors for the foreseeable future.
G’s owner Gary Park is known as much for his philanthropy as his cooking, and has made a reputation for investing in his community. Now he’s asking for a little help with his situation. In a Facebook post, G’s posted a link to a fundraiser to help rebuild and keep employees paid while navigating how to repair and rebuild.
“Many of you have inquired on how you can help us get up and running again. So I started a GoFundme to help with rebuild, and employee assistance. I also set up a account with Vystar for donations as well!”
So far, $9,000 has been donated towards a goal of $50,000. Anyone interested in donating can do so here.
