Clay County Tax Collector Diane Hutchings reported $216,879 in income from Ancora LLC on her newly filed 2025 Form 6, the annual financial disclosure required of Florida constitutional officers. The filing was submitted to the Commission on Ethics on August 16, 2026.
The figure marks a sharp increase from what CN&V previously reported. Earlier Form 6 filings showed Hutchings receiving $5,000 annually from Ancora. The new disclosure shows more than 40 times that amount for 2025.
Hutchings also listed her “Interest in Ancora LLC” as an asset on the same form, valued at $216,879. That is the same figure she reported as income from the company.
Ancora LLC is the private management company Hutchings helped establish a few months before stepping down from the founding board of St. Johns Classical Academy (SJCA), a public charter school in Clay County.
Ancora holds a contract with SJCA entitling it to 10 percent of the school’s revenue for services including staffing, building and grounds maintenance, records management, and student recruitment.
The new filing also shows Ancora has expanded beyond SJCA. It lists Treasure Coast Classical Academy in Stuart, Florida, as a second “major source of business income,” alongside St. Johns Classical Academy. Both are identified on the form as education service providers.
Hutchings reported a net worth of $1,930,489 as of December 31, 2025. Her disclosed assets include a home in Green Cove Springs valued at $850,000, an IRA worth $864,733, and a 2024 Lincoln Navigator valued at $75,000. She reported $190,705 in income from her elected position as tax collector, separate from the Ancora figure.
Because Ancora is a private, for-profit LLC, its own tax and financial records are not subject to public disclosure. It remains unclear how much of the money the school pays Ancora goes toward the services outlined in its contract, and how much represents profit distributed to Hutchings and co-manager Amy Miller.
CN&V sent Hutchings three questions on the disclosure. She responded before the deadline, from her Clay County Tax Collector email address.
Asked what accounted for the jump from $5,000 to $216,879, Hutchings said Ancora works with other entities beyond SJCA, both private and public. She said the figure is “simply the value of the organization” that she paid taxes on and is required to report.
Asked whether the $216,879 was her personal take-home pay or included funds covering Ancora’s operating costs, Hutchings said the number reflects the company's valuation, not her personal income. She said state law requires her to report that value on her financial disclosure.
Her Form 6 lists the $216,879 under a section titled “Name of Source of Income Exceeding $1,000,” alongside her tax collector salary. The same figure also appears separately as an asset value for her “Interest in Ancora LLC.”
Asked whether she would support making Ancora’s own finances public, given that its SJCA contract is funded by public charter school revenue, Hutchings said Ancora is a privately held company and a vendor of St. Johns Classical Academy and other clients.
CN&V sent a follow-up round of questions asking Hutchings to explain the basis for reporting a company valuation as income, how it calculated that valuation, and how it compares to Ancora’s known contract revenue from SJCA and Treasure Coast Classical Academy.
Hutchings did not answer the follow-up questions in writing. Instead, she replied from a personal email address, separate from the government account used for her first response, asking to meet in person so she could ask CN&V questions.
CN&V responded by asking Hutchings to answer the written follow-up questions before any meeting. The reply also stated that editor Peter Swanson would attend any meeting, requested the meeting be held at a public venue, and asked Hutchings to clarify whether she intended the conversation to be on or off the record and what she planned to discuss.
As of publication, Hutchings has not answered the follow-up questions or responded to the meeting conditions.
