Let’s be frank Mr Swanson, would you or would you allow one of any of your children (if you have any) jump into a pool if they or you could not swim?

Besides that, yes the maker of the boat should have known better or done better testing. We bought a VW PASSAT DIESEL and afterwards found out the chip had been fraudulent. The band 21 pilots came up with the title of the band after reading an Arthur Miller play in college. It was about the manufacturers knowledge of a faulty part that killed 21 pilots…. Things like this happen a lot until it is one too many. It is not right. It is corrupt. The boat maker does need to be held responsible. AND parents need to make sure to keep family members as safe as they possibly can.

Oh and I am semi perplexed that you would be surprised that the news seemed skewed.

I think you would be surprised how many people in boats are weak or non-swimmers, especially if they are from other culures. Historically, many if not most tall ship sailors were non-swimmers. It’s crazy. I know.

Funny you should bring up other cultures…my mom is an immigrant and when we go to her homeland almost every family member has a swim in the Irish Sea every morning. Up until about now. My mom was in the pool yesterday with her wet suit on (she is 85)…

What is normal? What is average for the group. We are in the USA and I recently thought I wonder how many people in the USA have seen the Ocean…. We are only grains of sand in the vast sea and yet we still gamble with our lives…. Thanks for your reply and enjoy the remainder of your Sunday.
