Kenneth Vogel Wants To Retain Orange Park's Hometown Charm
The 30 Year Resident Is Looking To Help Steward The Community's Growth
There is only one race on the April 9th municipal ballot with more than one candidate: Orange Park Town Council seat four. This article profiles Kenneth Vogel.
Kenneth Vogel has lived in Orange Park for 30 years. Vogel is currently a member of the town's Historic Preservation Board and owns a local business. The town council was a natural next step in staying involved in the town.
Vogel plans to gather more information on topics like removing or expanding the town's red light cameras. Vogel is 'in favor of following the law' but needs more info to make an informed decision on using technology like speed monitoring or red light cameras.
If elected, Vogel's priorities include increasing local businesses, creating more extracurricular activities for children and adults in the town, and continuing to find ways to grow Orange Park while retaining its hometown charm.
Vogel also believes the town provides value to its residents through garbage pickup and quick response times from the police and fire departments.
When asked why he should be elected, Vogel offered these comments:
"Because I'm not a politician. Every one of our citizens want the same thing that you wanted from me, to be heard, listened to, and ask questions. I recognize that I cannot solve or receive recognition for anything alone. This is a community effort and council's job is to be a steward of this community."
The municipal election will be held on April 9th.
