Neighbor To Neighbor Under New Ownership
Local newspaper Neighbor to Neighbor was established in 1991 by Clay native Debi Brown. This year, the paper was sold to Michael Kerekes, son of former School Board Member Janice Kerekes.
You might remember Michael’s name from when he was fired from a position in the Clay County School District for allegations of general abusive behavior, including locking a co-worker in a bathroom.
Janice is no stranger to allegations either, as she accused her opponent in her last election of stealing her campaign signs. Turns out, it was just an angry man from Keystone Heights.
Two Killed In Oakleaf Shooting
Per First Coast News, two women were killed, and Taylor Lomax was taken into custody after a shooting in Oakleaf on Wednesday. Reports have alleged that an altercation between the victims and the suspect’s wife may have led to the shooting. The suspect and victims are believed to be members of the United States Navy.
Road Rage Incident In Middleburg Leads To Injury, Attempted Murder Charge
Wednesday was a popular day for making terrible decisions with guns. A Middleburg man was arrested after shooting at three teenagers, hitting one in the leg. The shooting happened in a road rage incident that stretched several miles down Blanding Boulevard. 63-year-old Ruben Rodriguez Heredia was later arrested in the Clay Hill area and now faces three counts of attempted murder.
2026 Clay County Fair Concert Lineup Announced
In lighter news, the Clay County Fair has announced the acts scheduled to appear next year. 90’s star Terri Clark and Christian mega-star Crowder highlight the lineup.
