Previously, Clay News & Views told you about allegations made at the most recent School Board meeting about Argyle Elementary. You can read the original story here. One of the main concerns was a lack of drinking water, paper towels, and toilet paper across the campus.
The Clay County School District has remained quiet about the allegations, neither acknowledging the accusations nor publicizing their plan to address any existing issues. In the meantime, a group of local moms sprang into action to fill the void.
Moms For Liberty Clay County, led by Tanya Kacsan and school board member Erin Skipper, rallied their members and pulled together the following items to be donated to Argyle Elementary:
1220 bottles of water
144 rolls of toilet paper
34 bottles of hand soap
8 packages of Clorox wipes
2 gallons of Pine-Sol
One box of industrial paper towels
Embodying the Moms for Liberty mantra of being “Joyful Warriors”, the group of moms cheerfully delivered the good to the school, to the delight and appreciation of the staff.
While the supplies provided are certainly helpful, it will be up to the school district to ensure the school remains clean and fully supplied in the future. Clay News & Views will provide updates as this story develops.
It is certainly commendable that these ladies took the initiative to help. There are a lot of questions that need to be answered by the school administration and the district. Two questions just come to mind: were funds diverted to something else, and why were employees (custodians) not held accountable?
I have been ato many of the schools in Clay and have noticed water fountains in just about every classroom. So what is meant by a lack of drinking water?
