Brandon Ludwig Fills Vacant Keystone Seat
The Clay Native Rose To Prominence As Head Of The Florida Young Republicans
Keystone Heights City Council had a vacancy to fill, and last night, the head of the Florida Young Republicans was sworn into the position. Bradon Ludwig, a lifelong Clay and Keystone Heights citizen, will now serve in seat five on the city council.
Ludwig is a fourth-generation resident of Keystone Heights who has been active in local, state, and national politics for some time. At 25 years old, he’s also the second-youngest elected official in Clay County history.
His previous positions include communications-related roles with Rep. Kat Cammack, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and the City of Starke. He currently works in business development for a Jacksonville-based defense contractor, LSI.
Brandon was elected Chair of the Florida Young Republicans in June 2023 and subsequently re-elected in 2025. He represents the organization on the Republican Party of Florida's Executive Board.
Ludwing was also active in the Clay YRs, who have enjoyed continued success in recent years.
Ludwig spoke to Clay News & Views about his new position, saying, “As the fourth generation of my family to call Keystone home, I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve our residents and some of the best people you’ll ever meet.”
