Clay County Gives $764,000 to Trump, Harris

The Washington Post has collected the totals for political donations across the county, sorted by Zip Code. So far, according to the Post, Clay County residents have spent $764,000 supporting the campaigns of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Trump organizations received donations from 3,373 residents, totalling about $496,000.

Kamala organizations received donations from 2,139 residents, totalling about $268,000.

GOP and GOP-leaning voters, outnumber Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters by somewhere between ratios of 2-1 and 3-1. in Clay County. For example, in the 2020 election, Trump received 68 percent of the vote, and President Joe Biden got 31 percent.

According to the County elections office, there are 87,393 registered Republicans, 31,698 Democrats, 31,965 voters with no party affiliation and 5,167 voters belonging to minor parties.

So far, the average donation to Trump was $147. The average to Harris was $125.

The statistical outlier in the county was the City of Green Cove Springs, which was the source of 779 donations to Trump versus 666 to Harris, but the total in dollars was about the same—$100,000. When it comes to money and presidential politics, the city is purple.
