Clay News & Views Eclipses 1.5 Million Views
Thank You, Clay County
2025 was a banner year for Clay News & Views. CNV started in 2023 with the hope of covering stories that go unnoticed by traditional news outlets.
This year, our stories, podcast, and content received over 1.5 million views. On behalf of everyone here at Clay News & Views, thank you.
As you celebrate the Holidays and prepare for 2026, we offer you a few of our favorite stories from this past year!
Boater Skip Day
It's hard to understand the appeal of some cultural phenomena. Boater skip day on the St John’s River might be one of those. Clay News & Views founder Peter Swanson examines the good, bad, and ugly of this local tradition.
Once Indicted, Twice A Loser
Speaking of things that are hard to understand, former Sheriff Darryl Daniels keeps running for office. Daniels was ousted by Governor DeSantis in 2020 after being charged with covering up evidence related to an affair. Susan Armstrong examines how Daniels may not have been a Clay resident when running for Sheriff last year. Spoiler alert- he didn’t win. 😉
A Local Politician With Some Guts
Most local politicians avoid interviewing with Clay News & Views. Our habit of asking the questions others won’t ask makes them nervous. But County Commissioner Kristen Burke is not afraid of our questions or questions from the citizens she represents. Here’s the live fire interview Josh Allen did with Commissioner Burke earlier this year.
Thank you again for supporting the only local and independent in Clay County!

Congratulations. We may disagree (a lot) but always enjoy reading your posts and emails. Again, congratulations.
