In the fall of 2023, Clay News & Views launched with the idea to cover Clay County news that is overlooked by the established news sources in the area. Peter Swanson, Susan Armstrong, and I have published dozens of stories that would never have seen the light of day otherwise.Â
71,000 views later, we have proven there is a need and pent-up demand for news about Clay County. We need your help to meet that need. Clay News & Views is looking for new contributors.Â
Over the past few months, we realized that no matter how many stories we published, there were always more. All of us are volunteers. We have no advertisers and no funding. Clay News & Views is a free and independent news source. We are not beholden to any source of funding. Being completely independent gives us the freedom to publish any story.Â
But the problem is, there are so many stories to cover. Clay News & Views is looking for anyone passionate about Clay County to join our efforts to cover all of Clay County's important stories. No experience is needed; our current team can help guide and direct your efforts and writing. With your help, we can give Clay County the coverage it deserves. We want to be clear that this is a volunteer operation, we are looking for people who can spare a few hours a week. If everyone does a little, we can cover a whole lot more.
Clay News & Views wants to expand coverage of the following:
The Board of County CommissionersÂ
Keystone Heights
The City of Green Cove SpringsÂ
The Town of Orange ParkÂ
Clay HillÂ
Lake AsburyÂ
County Committee MeetingsÂ
School SportsÂ
Local eventsÂ
Real Estate
Chamber of Commerce
