George Bernard Shaw once said, “Youth is the most precious thing in life; it is too bad it has to be wasted on young folks.”. In Clay County, that isn’t always the case. The Clay Young Republicans recently received recognition for their political efforts in the county.
While attending the State Young Republican Convention in Sarasota last month, the Clay Young Republicans were recognized as the chapter with the most growth in the state. Their leader, Sam Wernet, was crowned “2025 Woman of the Year”.
The Clay Young Republicans were active in the 2024 election cycle and have a history of getting current and former members elected to local offices.
The success of the Clay Young Republicans was met with praise from both local and state-level party officials:

Despite Clay being a majority Republican county, the Young Republicans aren’t the only youth movement active in Clay County. Dylan Beck, leader of the Young Democrats, recently interviewed with Clay News & Views to talk about their organization.
Ultimately, the major political parties in Clay understand their voting bases are aging, and the key to future success and political power lies in connecting with the young current and soon-to-be voters.
That is fantastic news. Great post and story.
