Mercy Support Services is a rare entity in Clay County. The one-of-a-kind organization is focused on helping people facing insurmountable circumstances, including homelessness. Mercy Village is a project designed to build an apartment complex on College Drive in Orange Park. The apartments would house people and families facing homelessness and other crises.
Combined with the self-sufficiency programs already offered by Mercy Support Services, the apartments will be a much-needed resource for the estimated 9.6% of Clay County residents living below the poverty line.
On May 17th, Mercy Support Services announced the Hume Foundation's first large-scale donation to the project, $1 million. The full text of the announcement can be found below. You can visit their website for more information if you want to donate to Mercy Support Services or Mercy Village.
