New Venue Aims To Spark Creative Frenzy in Middleburg
Open House Sunday at Let's Create Studios
Margaret Panik and Wendy Hughes could usually be found spreading joy and doing good at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Middleburg and around the county. Now, with the help of their initially surprised, a little bewildered and finally fully supportive husbands, Margaret and Wendy will be splitting their benevolent time with a new venue in Middleburg that is so unique that Google can’t find another like it. It is called Let’s Create Studios.
The idea for the venue has been swirling around in Margaret’s heart for years. She’s a successful artist and has always wanted to have an art studio where she could share her talent and teach others her craft.
“I have always enjoyed teaching and giving the pleasure of art and creativity to others.” said Margaret. “They get so excited when they finish a painting and always say ‘Wow, I never thought I could paint this well.’ ”
Margaret shared her dream with her close friend Wendy, who’s so creative she’s been known for turning old chewing gum and duct tape into works of art. Wendy joined Margaret and their vision expanded to include lessons for everything you might want to learn about anything.
The duo finally found the perfect place for the venue in Middleburg and armed with optimism, Pinterest screenshots, and wildly misplaced confidence, they began to renovate and recreate their shop with gusto. Although accidentally turning it and themselves into walking color wheels from the top of their heads to the bottoms of their feet, their place is now a delightful space that makes all who enter smile and want to stay a while.
They are offering, for a nominal fee, numerous different painting and craft classes for kids and adults. They have also enlisted many talented guests instructors and are scheduled to teach folks to sew, crochet, make cards and jewelry, wood burning, and a long list of other fun and productive projects are on the list. Some expert instructors are traveling from other states and parts of Florida to share their amazing expertise with folks in the Clay County area while keeping the fees reasonable.
The fun has already begun at Let’s Create Studios and it has established itself as a cozy spot where imaginations run wild and so can new friends while making masterpieces and messes. The official Open House, however, will take place this Sunday after church.
Wendy and Margaret invite everyone to swing by at Let’s Create Studios where the door will be open, the cookies will be suspiciously perfect and creativity has no limits. Whether it's painting, pottery, squirrel surveillance, or learning to juggle flamingos (non-live, of course). If it's hands-on, heartfelt and legal, they are ready to help you master it. Just make a list of whatever you want to learn, present it to them at the open house, or at a later time, and they will find an expert to teach you and others how to do it.
Margaret Panik and Wendy Hughes will be waiting for you on Sunday, July 13 from 2 pm to 5 pm at Let’s Create Studios, 4213 CR 218, Middleburg.
Wonderful!
