Clay County needs to revoke the contract with FCC before 10/1/24. This Spanish company which is trying to get a foothold in the US waste management market has a poor track record for service in the counties who already have service contracts with them. The contract with Clay County more than doubles the cost of service. Recycling is eliminated and extra fees for service we now get for free. The County Commisioners need to be required to explain how they entered into such a bad deal for the residents of Clay County.

This is ludicrous. Why would we make such a contract with FCC? After due diligence this choice is an egregious error that needs investigating. Do better, Clay County.

Blahahahaha.

Spanish trash company tells us what they think of us.

Basically, deal with it. You signed the dotted line.

Now we the people pay more for lawyers to get out of the contract?

So typical. I have to wonder, did they go to Spain on the peoples dime, checking the company out? Why did they pick a company from the EU? To collect the peoples trash?

I’m in the drive-thru town of orange park and we have a new contract with the same company we had before.

However, the service has changed. The prices have gone up because we the people are paying for new bins, new trucks with automated arms (after two dumps our new bin is damaged). The excuse? Inflation? I say greed.

Our town manager built a 2nd home in Colorado during the Covid pandemic…. I wonder…

I wonder, did the workers on the ground get a raise? Probably a dollar. Our council stated the bins look so uniform now. Wait what? It’s about aesthetics? Meanwhile use your old bins for yard waste…. What happened to it looks so good and uniform…

What about all the plastic and the environment? More massive plastic bins???

Enough. We are all cash/tax cows going to the slaughter house.

Please don’t throw your trash on the streets. I can only pick up so much…

It is a 500.00 fine for littering. We are a million times better than that!!

Obviously the Clay County Board of Commissioners not only did a poor job of not informing the citizens of Clay County about the upcoming contract renewal for trash and request for bids on service, but also in researching the company they chose to do business with. It is obvious that FCC has had numerous complaints in numerous counties, but CCBOC chose to ignore that and sign a 10 year deal with a less than adequate provider. I am certain that many residents in Clay County would have been more than happy to keep Waste Management and the services provided, even if it did cost a little extra. This contract came with hidden fees that residents were not made aware of and is virtually more expensive than WM with less services. If my trash is not picked up by FCC and my garbage can becomes overrun with maggots and a rotting smell, I hope my county commissioner is ready to come do a thorough cleaning on it.

There are complaints world wide about his company ... As well as having poor customer service ... Lots of unhappy employees ... Why did our county not check reviews? ... There are red flags about them all over the country ... https://www.facebook.com/FCC.Environmental.Services/reviews

Can we not use this new trash company!! If St. John’s is having a lot of issues we don’t need them here. If they don’t pick up and you have more trash it’s $4 an extra bag if it doesn’t fit in the trash can. Ridiculous!!!! And not a lot of people don’t have the time to go to the dump.
